Dr. Simone Ritter
Simone is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Innovation at Radboud University, an entrepreneur, and an inspirational speaker. She thrives in environments where creating 'something new' is key, and where inspiration and vision are needed. Simone is characterized by her analytical ability coupled with keen intuition, her enthusiasm, and her ability to establish co-creation. She is at her best when collaborating and being in dialogue with others.
By founding ACT VR-supported Training Programs, she follows her passion to translate scientific knowledge into practice, and to contribute to positive change within organizations and society.
Simone grew up in Southern Germany and currently lives in Nijmegen with her partner and two daughters.
She enjoys traveling to sunny places with her family, visiting inspiring cities, and immersing herself in new cultures. Closer to home, she enjoys good coffee, pure chocolate, watersports, arthouse movies, and meaningful conversations.
Jeroen Derks
At the age of twelve, Jeroen made two blue squares move across the screen of his 486 computer. This success sparked a passion for computer graphics. Games and his parents' computer were no longer safe, he modified them to his liking and created animations. Later, he programmed 3D graphics and won several awards in the Demoscene. He has published articles in computer graphics magazines.
Jeroen works as a computer graphics specialist for the renowned Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics. He previously worked as a VR programmer for the Donders Institute and Radboud University and was instrumental in establishing the first VR lab for psychological research in 2006. Jeroen enthusiastically employs his knowledge and experience in the development of virtual environments for ACT VR-supported Training Programs.
In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, traveling, cycling, and whisky. He is the author of the book ”The Illusion of Alcohol" and lives with his partner and son in Nijmegen.
Dr. Patricia de Groot
Patricia is a connector and a perseverer. She approaches life with positivity and openness.
As a former top athlete, an academic doctor, a professional in the Life Sciences industry, and an independent scientific writer, she has gathered a wealth of experiences.
Patricia excels in distinguishing the essentials from the details and presents complex information in a clear and understandable manner to the appropriate audiences. Writing is her forte. With pleasure she applies her experience and skills to ACT VR-supported Training Programs, aiming to contribute to positive change.
Besides her work she enjoys reading, walking, movies, cozy socialising, and culinary delights. When it comes to travel, she unmistakably favours sunshine, the sea, and flip-flops.
Her partner, two daughters, four-legged companion, and friends are the ‘essentials’ in her life.
